Boosting gaseous oxygen transport in a Zn-air battery for high-rate charging by a bubble diode-inspired air electrode
In this paper, the concept of "bubble diode" is proposed for the rapid transport of gas in fast charging process of zinc-air battery. As a result, a high-performance, fast, and stable charging is achieved with revealed mechanism of bubble transport in electrochemical system. Based on the idea of cross-discipline, heat and mass transfer, electrochemistry, fluid mechanics and other disciplines are integrated to point out the direction for the design of high-performance gas evolution electrodes, including metal-air battery, hydrogen production from electrolytic water splitting and so on.
