Pattern Investigation and Quantitative Analysis of Lithium Plating under Subzero Operation of Lithium-Ion Batteries

In this work, the occurrence of Li plating was determined by electrochemical testing and microphysical characterization, and a more comprehensive Li plating pattern under the combined effect of low temperatures and current rates was explored. Subsequently, by quantifying the reversible and irreversible Li plating capacity during the whole cycle, a complete system of quantified Li plating was summarized. And finally, a detailed dynamic Li plating variation was obtained This work can not only enhance the understanding of the Li plating phenomenon but also provide a data basis for future Li plating prediction and regulation.
