This paper discusses the latest development of efficient bubble removal strategy in electrochemical systems. Firstly, bubble evolution dynamics and the resultant overpotential are analyzed in detail. Then, the latest progress of efficient bubble removal is introduced from the point of view of passive and active strategies. Finally, the pros and cons of the two strategies and the outlook are summarized, thus providing some ideas for the theoretical guidance and design criteria of high-performance gas evolved electrochemical system.
